Our pH Booster (Raw Water) is a high-purity alkaline concentrate engineered to stabilize incoming water supplies. By precisely adjusting the pH of raw water, this solution creates the ideal environment for downstream purification and long-term equipment health.
This is a liquid alkaline concentrate specifically formulated to increase the pH of incoming raw water. By blending high-purity NaOH with DM water, the solution remains stable and free from impurities. It is designed to be dosed accurately to prevent the water from being too acidic, which helps in the efficient removal of certain impurities and protects the machinery from corrosion.
Corrosion Protection: By raising the pH, it prevents the acidic water from eating away at your high-pressure pumps, SS pipes, and metal fittings.
Optimizes Filtration: Many pre-treatment filters (like Multi-Media Filters) and certain coagulants work much better when the water pH is in the neutral range (7.0 to 7.5).
Effective Acid Neutralizer: Highly efficient at neutralizing carbonic acid or other acidic components in borewell water.
Ready-to-Use: Since it is already mixed with DM water, there is no risk of the chemical “precipitating” or clogging your dosing pump, which often happens with poor-quality lime or powder-based boosters.
Dosing Point: It is usually dosed into the Raw Water Feed Line (before the RO pump) or directly into the Raw Water Storage Tank.
Dosing Pump: Use a chemical-resistant (PP/PVC) dosing pump.
Monitoring: You must use a pH meter or pH controller. Measure the raw water pH first. Adjust the dosing pump frequency until the pH reaches your target (usually 7.0 to 7.5).
Mixing: Ensure there is enough “contact time” or turbulence in the pipe for the chemical to mix thoroughly with the water before it reaches the sensors or the RO membrane.
Highly Caustic: Even though it is diluted with DM water, it is very “basic.” It can cause severe burns to the eyes and skin.
Scaling Risk: If you raise the pH too high (above 8.5) before the RO, minerals like Calcium will start to precipitate (harden) very quickly, which can choke your membranes.
Slippery: If spilled on the floor, it becomes extremely slippery and dangerous for workers.
If you are dosing this before the RO membrane, make sure your Antiscalant dosing is also running perfectly. High pH water increases the “Scaling Potential,” so the Antiscalant becomes even more important to protect the membrane.
